(KJV) Ephesians 5¹

⥃Imitators of God

[1] Be ye therefore followers² of God, as³ dear children; [2] And walk⁴ in love, as⁵ Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice⁶ to God for a⁷ sweetsmelling savour. [3] But fornication⁸, and all uncleanness, or covetousness⁹, let it not be once named¹⁰ among you, as¹¹ becometh saints; [4] Neither filthiness¹², nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient¹³: but¹⁴ rather giving of thanks. [5] For this¹⁵ ye know, that no¹⁶ whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is¹⁷ an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [6] Let no¹⁸ man deceive you with vain¹⁹ words: for because of these things cometh²⁰ the wrath of God upon the children²¹ of disobedience²². [7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them.²³

⥃Children of Light

[8] For ye were²⁴ sometimes darkness, but²⁵ now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk²⁶ as children of light: [9] (For the fruit²⁷ of the Spirit [is] in all goodness²⁸ and righteousness²⁹ and truth³⁰;) [10] Proving³¹ what is acceptable³² unto the Lord. [11] And have no³³ fellowship with the unfruitful³⁴ works³⁵ of darkness, but³⁶ rather reprove [them]. [12] For it³⁷ is a shame even to speak of those thin³⁸gs which are done of them in secret. [13] But all things that are reproved³⁹ are made manifest by the light: for⁴⁰ whatsoever doth make manifest is light. [14] Whe⁴¹refore he saith, Awake⁴² thou that sleepest, and arise⁴³ from the dead, and Christ⁴⁴ shall give thee light. [15] See⁴⁵ then that ye walk⁴⁶ circumspectly, not⁴⁷ as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming⁴⁸ the time, because the days⁴⁹ are evil. [17] Wherefore be⁵⁰ ye not unwise, but understanding⁵¹ what the will of the Lord [is]. [18] And be not⁵² drunk with wine, wherein is excess⁵³; but⁵⁴ be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves⁵⁵ in psalms⁵⁶ and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making⁵⁷ melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks⁵⁸ always for all thin⁵⁹gs unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⥃Wives and Husbands ^{[ Song 1:1–17 † 1 Peter 3:1–7 ]}

[21] Submittin⁶⁰g⁶¹ yourselves one to another in the fear of God. [22] Wives, submit⁶² yourselves unto your own husbands, as⁶³ unto the Lord. [23] For the husband⁶⁴ is the head of the wife, even⁶⁵ as Christ is the⁶⁶ head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in⁶⁷ every thing. [25] Husbands, love⁶⁸ your wives, even as Christ also loved⁶⁹ the church, and gave himself for it; [26] That he⁷⁰ might sanctify and cleanse it with⁷¹ the washing of water by⁷² the word, [27] That he⁷³ might present it to himself a glorious⁷⁴ church, not⁷⁵ having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but⁷⁶ that it should be holy and without blemish. [28] So ought men to love their wives as⁷⁷ their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated⁷⁸ his own flesh; but nourisheth⁷⁹ and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.⁸⁰ [31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.⁸¹ [32] This is a great⁸² mystery: but I speak⁸³ concerning Christ and the church. [33] Nevertheless let⁸⁴ every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence⁸⁵ [her] husband.
