(KJV) 2 Timothy 4¹

⥃Preach the Word

[1] I charge² [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who³ shall judge the quick and the dead at⁴ his appearing and his kingdom⁵; [2] Preach⁶ the word; be⁷ in⁸stant in season, out of season; reprove⁹, rebuke, exhort¹⁰ with all¹¹ longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the time¹² will come when they will¹³ not endure sound¹⁴ doctrine; but¹⁵ after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having¹⁶ itching ears; [4] And they shall turn¹⁷ away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto¹⁸ fables. [5] But watch¹⁹ thou in all things, endure²⁰ afflictions, do the work of an²¹ evangelist, make full proof of²² thy ministry. [6] For I am²³ now ready to be offered, and²⁴ the time of my departure is at hand. [7] I have fought a good fight, I have finished²⁵ [my] course, I have kept²⁶ the faith:²⁷ [8] Henceforth there²⁸ is laid up for me a crown²⁹ of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous³⁰ judge, shall give me at that³¹ day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love³² his appearing.

⥃Personal Concerns

[9] Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:³³ [10] For Demas³⁴ hath³⁵ forsaken me, having³⁶ loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica³⁷; Crescens to Galatia³⁸, Titus³⁹ unto Dalmatia. [11] Only⁴⁰ Luke⁴¹ is with me. Take Mark⁴², and bring him with thee: for⁴³ he is profitable to me for the ministry. [12] And Tychicus⁴⁴ have I sent to⁴⁵ Ephesus. [13] The cloke⁴⁶ that I left at Troas⁴⁷ with Carpus, when thou comest, bring [with thee], and the books, [but] especially the parchments. [14] Alexander⁴⁸ the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward⁴⁹ him according to his works: [15] Of whom be⁵⁰ thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood⁵¹ our words⁵².

⥃The Lord Remains Faithful

[16] At my first answer⁵³ no⁵⁴ man stood with me, but all [men] forsook me: [I pray⁵⁵ God] that it may not be laid to their charge. [17] Notwithstanding the Lord⁵⁶ stood with me, and strengthened⁵⁷ me; that by⁵⁸ me the preaching might be fully known, and [that] all the Gentiles might hear: and I⁵⁹ was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. [18] And the Lord shall deliver⁶⁰ me from every evil work, and will⁶¹ preserve [me] unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom⁶² [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.
