⥃Waiting on God

To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

[1] Truly2 my soul3 waiteth4 upon God: from5 him [cometh] my salvation. [2] He only6 [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence7; I shall8 not be greatly moved. [3] How9 long will ye imagine10 mischief against a man? ye shall11 be slain all of you: as a bowing12 wall [shall ye be], [and as] a tottering fence. [4] They only consult13 to cast [him] down from his excellency: they delight14 in lies: they bless15 with their mouth, but they curse inwardly16. Selah. [5] My soul17, wait18 thou only upon God; for my19 expectation [is] from him. [6] He only [is] my rock20 and my salvation: [he is] my defence; I shall21 not be moved. [7] In God22 [is] my salvation and my glory23: the rock24 of my strength, [and] my refuge, [is] in God. [8] Trust25 in him at all times; ye people, pour26 out your heart before him: God27 [is] a refuge for us. Selah. [9] Surely28 men of low degree [are] vanity, [and] men of high29 degree [are] a lie: to be laid30 in the balance, they [are] altogether31 [lighter32] than vanity. [10] Trust33 not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches34 increase, set35 not your heart [upon them]. [11] God hath spoken36 once; twice have I heard this; that power37 [belongeth] unto God. [12] Also unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] mercy38: for thou renderest39 to every man according to his work.
