⥃Tried but Trusting

A Prayer of David.

[1] Bow2 down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I [am3] poor and needy. [2] Preserve4 my soul; for I [am] holy5: O thou my God, save6 thy servant that trusteth7 in thee. [3] Be merciful8 unto me, O Lord: for I9 cry unto thee daily10. [4] Rejoice11 the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do12 I lift up my soul. [5] For thou13, Lord, [art] good, and ready14 to forgive; and plenteous15 in mercy unto all16 them that call upon thee. [6] Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.17 [7] In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.18 [8] Among19 the gods [there is] none like unto thee, O Lord; neither20 [are there any works] like unto thy works. [9] All21 nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify22 thy name. [10] For23 thou [art] great, and doest wondrous things: thou [art] God24 alone. [11] Teach25 me thy way, O Lord; I will26 walk in thy truth: unite27 my heart to fear thy name. [12] I will praise28 thee, O Lord my God, with all29 my heart: and I will glorify30 thy name for evermore. [13] For great31 [is] thy mercy toward me: and thou32 hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell33. [14] O God34, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies35 of violent36 [men] have sought after my soul; and have37 not set thee before them. [15] But thou38, O Lord, [art] a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy39 and truth. [16] O turn40 unto me, and have mercy upon me; give41 thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son42 of thine handmaid. [17] Shew43 me a token for good; that they44 which hate me may see [it], and be ashamed: because thou45, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.
