⥃The LORD Loves the Gates of Zion

A Psalm [or] Song for2 the sons of Korah.

[1] His3 foundation [is] in the holy4 mountains. [2] The Lord5 loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. [3] Glorious6 things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. [4] I will make mention of Rahab7 and Babylon8 to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre9, with Ethiopia10; this [man11] was born there. [5] And of Zion12 it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest13 himself shall establish her. [6] The Lord shall count, when14 he writeth up the people, [that] this [man15] was born there. Selah. [7] As well16 the singers as the players on instruments [shall be there]: all my17 springs [are] in thee.

It is highly probable that this Psalm was written by one of the descendants of Korah on the return from the Babylonian captivity.
