[1] Preserve2 me, O God: for3 in thee do I put my trust. [2] [O my soul], thou hast4 said unto the Lord, Thou [art] my Lord: my goodness5 [extendeth] not to thee; [3] [But6] to the saints7 that [are] in the earth, and [to] the excellent8, in whom9 [is] all my delight. [4] Their10 sorrows shall be multiplied [that] hasten11 [after] another [god]: their drink12 offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take13 up their names into my lips. [5] The Lord14 [is] the portion of mine inheritance15 and of my16 cup: thou17 maintainest my lot. [6] The lines18 are fallen unto me in pleasant19 [places]; yea, I have20 a goodly heritage. [7] I will bless the Lord, who hath21 given me counsel: my reins22 also instruct me in the23 night seasons. [8] I have24 set the Lord always before me: because [he is25] at my right hand, I shall26 not be moved. [9] Therefore my heart27 is glad, and my glory28 rejoiceth: my flesh29 also shall rest in hope30. [10] For thou wilt not leave my31 soul in hell32; neither33 wilt thou suffer thine34 Holy One to see corruption. [11] Thou wilt shew me the path35 of life: in thy36 presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy37 right hand [there are] pleasures38 for evermore.
