⥃Overcoming the World

[1] Whosoever believeth2 that Jesus is the Christ is born3 of God: and every4 one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. [2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.5 [3] For this6 is the love of God, that we keep his command7ments: and his commandments are not grievous. [4] For whatsoever8 is born of God overcometh9 the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. [5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but10 he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? [6] This is he11 that came by water and12 blood13, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that14 beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth15. [7] For there are three that bear16 record in heaven, the Father17, the Word18, and the Holy19 Ghost: and these20 three are one. [8] And there21 are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit22, and the water23, and the blood24: and these25 three agree in one.

⥃God’s Testimony about His Son

[9] If we26 receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for27 this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. [10] He that believeth on28 the Son of God hath the29 witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made30 him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this31 is the record, that God32 hath given to us eternal life, and this33 life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the34 Son hath life; [and] he35 that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

⥃Effective Prayer

[13] These things have I36 written unto you that believe37 on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know38 that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. [14] And this39 is the confidence that we have in him40, that, if41 we ask any thing according to his will, he42 heareth us: [15] And if43 we know44 that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. [16] If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask45, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There46 is a sin unto death: I do not47 say that he shall pray for it. [17] All48 unrighteousness is sin: and49 there is a sin not unto death.

⥃The True God

[18] We know that whosoever50 is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth51 himself, and that wicked52 one toucheth him not. [19] [And] we know53 that we are of God, and the54 whole world lieth in wickedness55. [20] And we know56 that the Son of God is come, and hath57 given us an understanding, that we may know him that58 is true, and we59 are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is60 the true God, and eternal life. [21] Little61 children, keep62 yourselves from idols. Amen63.
