⥃To the Church in Ephesus [ Acts 19:8–12 † Ephesians 1:1–2 ]
[1] Unto the angel2 of the church3 of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth4 the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh5 in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; [2] I know6 thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how7 thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast8 tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: [3] And hast borne9, and hast patience10, and for my name’s sake hast laboured11, and hast not12 fainted. [4] Nevertheless I have13 [somewhat] against thee, because14 thou hast left thy first love. [5] Remember15 therefore from whence thou art16 fallen, and repent17, and do18 the first works; or else19 I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. [6] But this thou hast, that20 thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. [7] He that hath21 an ear, let him22 hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him23 that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree24 of life, which is in the midst of the paradise25 of God.
⥃To the Church in Smyrna
[8] And unto the angel26 of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first27 and the last, which was dead, and is alive; [9] I know28 thy works, and tribulation29, and poverty30, (but thou art31 rich) and [I know] the blasphemy32 of them which33 say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue34 of Satan. [10] Fear35 none of those things which thou shalt36 suffer: behold, the devil37 shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall38 have tribulation ten days39: be thou40 faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown41 of life. [11] He that hath42 an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second43 death.
⥃To the Church in Pergamum
[12] And to the angel44 of the church in Pergamos45 write; These things saith he which hath46 the sharp sword with two edges; [13] I know47 thy works, and where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan’s48 seat [is]: and thou holdest49 fast my name50, and hast not denied51 my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas [was52] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. [14] But I have53 a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam54, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock55 before the children of Israel, to eat56 things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit57 fornication. [15] So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine58 of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. [16] Repent59; or else60 I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight61 against them with the sword of my mouth. [17] He that hath62 an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat63 of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new64 name written, which no man knoweth saving65 he that receiveth [it].
⥃To the Church in Thyatira [ Acts 16:11–15 ]
[18] And unto66 the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son67 of God, who68 hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass; [19] I know69 thy works, and charity70, and service, and faith, and thy patience71, and thy works; and the last72 [to be] more than the first. [20] Notwithstanding I have73 a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman74 Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce75 my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. [21] And I gave her space76 to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. [22] Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them77 that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except78 they repent of their deeds. [23] And I will kill her children with death79; and all80 the churches shall know that I am81 he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will82 give unto every one of you according to your works. [24] But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths83 of Satan, as they speak; I will84 put upon you none other burden. [25] But that85 which ye have [already] hold fast till86 I come. [26] And he87 that overcometh, and keepeth88 my works unto the end, to him will I give89 power over the nations: [27] And he shall90 rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even91 as I received of my Father. [28] And I will give him the morning star.92 [29] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. 93
