Deliverance from False Prophets[ Jude 1:3–16 ]

[1] But there were2 false prophets also among the people, even3 as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily4 shall bring in damnable5 heresies, even denying6 the Lord that bought7 them, and bring8 upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many9 shall follow their pernicious ways1011; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil12 spoken of. [3] And through13 covetousness shall they with14 feigned words make15 merchandise of you: whose16 judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. [4] For if God spared17 not the angels18 that sinned, but19 cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into20 chains of darkness, to be21 reserved unto judgment; [5] And spared22 not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth23 [person], a preacher24 of righteousness, bringing25 in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; [6] And turning26 the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned [them] with an overthrow, making27 [them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; [7] And delivered28 just Lot, vexed29 with the filthy conversation of the wicked: [8] (For that30 righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing31 and hearing, vexed [his] righteous soul from day to day with [their] unlawful deeds;) [9] The Lord knoweth32 how to deliver the godly33 out of temptations, and34 to reserve the unjust unto35 the day of judgment to be punished: [10] But chiefly them that36 walk after the flesh in the37 lust of uncleanness, and despise38 government39. Presumptuous40 [are they], selfwilled41, they are not afraid to speak42 evil of dignities. [11] Whereas angels43, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them44 before the Lord. [12] But these, as natural45 brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish46 in their own corruption; [13] And shall receive the reward47 of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot48 in the day time. Spots49 [they are] and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while50 they feast with you; [14] Having eyes51 full of adultery52, and that cannot53 cease from sin; beguiling54 unstable souls: an heart55 they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed56 children: [15] Which have forsaken57 the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam58 [the son] of Bosor, who59 loved the wages60 of unrighteousness; [16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb61 ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness62 of the prophet. [17] These are wells63 without water, clouds64 that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist65 of darkness66 is reserved for ever. [18] For when they speak67 great swelling68 [words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, [through much] wantonness69, those that were70 clean71 escaped from them who live in error. [19] While they promise72 them liberty, they themselves73 are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome74, of the same is he brought in bondage. [20] For if after75 they have escaped76 the pollutions of the world through77 the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter78 end is worse with them than the beginning. [21] For it had79 been better for them not to have known the way80 of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn81 from the holy82 commandment delivered unto them. [22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog83 [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
