⥃The Triumphant Messiah [ Acts 4:23–31 ]
[1] Why2 do the heathen rage3, and the people4 imagine5 a vain thing?6 [2] The kings7 of the earth set themselves, and the rulers8 take counsel together, against the Lord9, and against his anointed10, [saying], [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.11 [4] He that12 sitteth in the heavens shall laugh13: the Lord shall have them in derision. [5] Then14 shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex15 them in his sore16 displeasure. [6] Yet17 have I set18 my19 king upon my holy hill of Zion. [7] I will declare the decree20: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou21 [art] my Son; this22 day have I begotten thee. [8] Ask23 of me, and I24 shall give [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession. [9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.25 [10] Be wise26 no27w therefore, O ye kings: be instructed28, ye judges of the earth. [11] Serve29 the Lord with fear, and rejoice30 with trembling. [12] Kiss31 the Son32, lest he be angry, and33 ye perish34 [from] the way, when35 his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed36 [are] all they that put their trust in him.
