⥃Make a Joyful Noise [ Psalms 100:1–5 ]
To the chief Musician, A Song [or] Psalm.
[1] Make2 a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands3:4 [2] Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.5 [3] Say unto God, How terrible6 [art thou in] thy works! through7 the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves8 unto thee. [4] All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing [to] thy name. Selah.9 [5] Come10 and see the works of God: [he is] terrible11 [in his] doing toward the children of men. [6] He turned12 the sea into dry [land]: they13 went through the flood on foot: there14 did we rejoice in him. [7] He ruleth15 by his power for ever; his eyes16 behold the nations: let17 not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. [8] O bless18 our God, ye people, and make19 the voice of his praise to be heard: [9] Which holdeth20 our soul in life, and suffereth21 not our feet to be moved. [10] For thou, O God, hast proved us22: thou hast tried23 us, as silver is tried. [11] Thou broughtest24 us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon25 our loins. [12] Thou hast caused26 men to ride over our heads; we went through27 fire and through water: but thou28 broughtest us out into a wealthy29 [place]. [13] I will go into30 thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay31 thee my vows, [14] Which my lips have uttered32, and my mouth33 hath spoken, when34 I was in trouble. [15] I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings35, with the36 incense of rams; I will offer37 bullocks with goats. Selah. [16] Come38 [and] hear, all ye that fear God, and I will39 declare what he hath done for my soul. [17] I cried40 unto him with my mouth, and he was41 extolled with my tongue. [18] If I regard42 iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]: [19] [But] verily God hath heard [me]; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.43 [20] Blessed [be] God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. 44
