(KJV) Hebrews 2¹

⥃Salvation Confirmed

[1] Therefore² we ought to give the more³ earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should⁴ let [them] slip⁵. [2] For if the word spoken⁶ by angels was stedfast, and every⁷ transgression and disobedience received a just recompence⁸ of reward; [3] How⁹ shall we escape, if we neglect so¹⁰ great salvation; which at the first began¹¹ to be spoken by the Lord, and was¹² confirmed unto us by them that heard [him]; [4] God¹³ also bearing [them] witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts¹⁴ of the Holy Ghost, according¹⁵ to his own will?

⥃Jesus like His Brothers

[5] For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world¹⁶ to come, whereof we speak. [6] But one in¹⁷ a certain place testified, saying, What¹⁸ is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son¹⁹ of man, that thou visitest²⁰ him? [7] Thou madest²¹ him a little lower than²² the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: [8] Thou hast²³ put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing [that is] not put under him. But²⁴ now we see not yet all things put under him. [9] But we see Jesus²⁵, who was made a little lower than the angels for the²⁶ suffering of death, crowned²⁷ with glory and honour; that he by²⁸ the grace of God should taste²⁹ death for every³⁰ man. [10] For it³¹ became him, for³² whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many³³ sons unto glory³⁴, to make the captain³⁵ of their salvation perfect³⁶ through sufferings. [11] For both he that³⁷ sanctifieth and they who are sanctified [are] all³⁸ of one: for which cause he is³⁹ not ashamed to call⁴⁰ them brethren, [12] Saying, I will⁴¹ declare thy name unto my brethren, in⁴² the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. [13] And again, I will⁴³ put my trust in him. And again, Behold⁴⁴ I and the children which⁴⁵ God hath given me. [14] Forasmuch then as the children⁴⁶ are partakers of flesh⁴⁷ and blood, he also⁴⁸ himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy⁴⁹ him that had the power of death, that is, the devil⁵⁰; [15] And deliver⁵¹ them who through⁵² fear of death were all their lifetime subject⁵³ to bondage. [16] For verily⁵⁴ he took not⁵⁵ on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed⁵⁶ of Abraham. [17] Wherefore in all things it⁵⁷ behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful⁵⁸ and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make⁵⁹ reconciliation for the sins of the people. [18] For in that he himself hath suffered⁶⁰ being tempted, he is⁶¹ able to succour them⁶² that are tempted.
