(KJV) Psalm 32¹

⥃The Joy of Forgiveness ^{[ Romans 4:1–12 ]}

[A Psalm] of David, Maschil.

[1] Blessed² [is he whose] transgression³ [is] forgiven, [whose] sin [is] covered⁴. [2] Blessed [is] the man unto whom the Lord⁵ imputeth not iniquity, and in whose⁶ spirit [there is] no guile. [3] When⁷ I kept silence, my bones⁸ waxed old through my roaring⁹ all the day long. [4] For day and night thy hand¹⁰ was heavy upon me: my moisture¹¹ is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. [5] I acknowledged¹² my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have¹³ I not hid. I said¹⁴, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest¹⁵ the iniquity¹⁶ of my sin. Selah. [6] For this¹⁷ shall every one that is godly¹⁸ pray¹⁹ unto thee in a time²⁰ when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods²¹ of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. [7] Thou [art] my²² hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass²³ me about with songs²⁴ of deliverance. Selah. [8] I will instruct²⁵ thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide²⁶ thee with mine eye. [9] Be ye²⁷ no²⁸t as the horse, [or] as the mule, [which] have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. [10] Many²⁹ sorrows [shall be] to the wicked: but³⁰ he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. [11] Be glad³¹ in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout³² for joy, all [ye that are] upright³³ in heart.
