⥃The Two Witnesses
[1] And there was given me a reed2 like unto a rod: and the3 angel stood, saying, Rise4, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. [2] But the court5 which is without the temple leave out6, and measure it not; for it is7 given unto the Gentiles: and the8 holy city shall they tread9 under foot forty10 [and] two months. [3] And I will give [power11] unto my two12 witnesses13, and they shall14 prophesy a thousand15 two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed16 in sackcloth. [4] These are the two olive17 trees, and the two candlesticks18 standing19 before the God20 of the earth. [5] And if any man will hurt them, fire21 proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. [6] These have power22 to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over23 waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
⥃The Witnesses Killed and Raised
[7] And when24 they shall have finished their testimony, the beast25 that ascendeth out26 of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. [8] And their dead27 bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great28 city, which spiritually is called Sodom29 and Egypt30, where also our Lord31 was crucified. [9] And they of the people32 and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three33 days and an half, and shall not34 suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. [10] And they that dwell35 upon the earth shall rejoice36 over them, and make37 merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these38 two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. [11] And after three39 days and an half the Spirit40 of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great41 fear fell upon them which saw them. [12] And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come42 up hither. And they43 ascended up to heaven in44 a cloud; and their45 enemies beheld them. [13] And the same hour was there46 a great earthquake, and the tenth47 part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men48 seven thousand: and the remnant49 were affrighted, and gave50 glory to the God of heaven. [14] The second woe is past; [and], behold, the third woe cometh quickly.51
⥃The Seventh Trumpet
[15] And the seventh52 angel sounded; and there53 were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms54 of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he55 shall reign for ever and ever. [16] And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,56 [17] Saying, We give57 thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty58, which59 art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast60 taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. [18] And the nations61 were angry, and thy62 wrath is come, and the time63 of the dead, that they should be judged, and that64 thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them65 that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest66 destroy them which destroy67 the earth. [19] And the temple68 of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark69 of his testament: and there were70 lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great71 hail.
