⥃In You My Soul Takes Refuge [ 1 Samuel 22:1–5 † Psalms 108:1–13 † Psalms 142:1–7 ]

To the chief Musician, Al–taschith, Michtam of David, when2 he fled from Saul in the cave.

[1] Be3 merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul4 trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow5 of thy wings will I make my refuge, until6 [these] calamities be overpast. [2] I will cry unto God most7 high; unto God that8 performeth [all things] for me. [3] He shall send9 from heaven, and save me [from] the reproach of him10 that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send11 forth his mercy and his truth. [4] My soul [is] among12 lions: [and] I lie [even among] them that are set13 on fire, [even] the sons of men, whose14 teeth [are] spears and arrows, and their tongue15 a sharp sword. [5] Be thou16 exalted, O God, above17 the heavens; [let] thy glory18 [be] above all the earth. [6] They have prepared a net19 for my steps; my soul20 is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen [themselves]. Selah. [7] My21 heart is fixed22, O God, my heart is fixed: I will23 sing and give praise. [8] Awake24 up, my glory25; awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early26. [9] I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.27 [10] For28 thy mercy [is] great unto the heavens, and thy truth29 unto the clouds. [11] Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: [let] thy glory [be] above all the earth. 30
