How Long, O LORD?

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

[1] How2 long wilt thou forget3 me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide4 thy face from me? [2] How long shall I take5 counsel in my soul, [having] sorrow6 in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy7 be exalted8 over me? [3] Consider9 [and] hear me, O Lord my God: lighten10 mine eyes, lest11 I sleep the [sleep of] death; [4] Lest12 mine enemy say, I have13 prevailed against him; [and] those that trouble me rejoice when14 I am moved. [5] But15 I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart16 shall rejoice in thy salvation. [6] I17 will sing unto the18 Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
