⥃The Throne in Heaven

[1] After2 this I looked, and, behold, a door3 [was] opened in heaven: and the first4 voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come5 up hither, and I6 will shew thee things which must be hereafter. [2] And immediately I was7 in the spirit: and, behold, a throne8 was set in heaven, and [one9] sat on the throne. [3] And he that sat was to look upon like a10 jasper and a sardine stone: and [there was] a rainbow11 round about the throne, in sight like unto12 an emerald. [4] And round about the throne [were] four13 and twenty14 seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed15 in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns16 of gold.

⥃Worship of the Creator

[5] And out of the throne proceeded17 lightnings and thunderings and voices: and [there were] seven18 lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven19 Spirits of God. [6] And before the throne [there was] a sea20 of glass like unto crystal21: and in the midst22 of the throne, and round about the throne, [were] four beasts23 full24 of eyes before and behind. [7] And the first beast25 [was] like a lion, and the second beast like a calf26, and the third beas27t had a face as a man, and the fourth beast [was] like a flying28 eagle. [8] And the four beasts had each of them six29 wings about [him]; and [they were] full30 of eyes within: and they31 rest not32 day and night, saying, Holy33, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty34, which35 was, and is, and is to come. [9] And when36 those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who37 liveth for ever and ever, [10] The four and twenty elders fall38 down before him that sat on the throne, and worship39 him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast40 their crowns before the throne, saying, [11] Thou art41 worthy, O Lord, to receive42 glory and honour and power: for thou43 hast created all things, and for44 thy pleasure they are and were created.
