Word Type Abbreviations and Editions

Word Type Abbreviations:

• N / "Ancient" = Greek in Nestle-Aland, translated by most Bibles.
• K / "Traditional" = Greek of the KJV or "Textus Receptus" based on Scrivener 1894.
• O / "Others" = any different Greek in major editions or used by translations.
• Lower case "n" "k", "o" are differences that are too minor to entail a different translation. Spelling differences and word order differences that don't affect the translation are recorded below but are not counted in these totals.

• Byz = Byzantine based on RP 2005;
• NA27 = Nestle-Aland 27th ed; NA28 2012 (not the same as ECM Acts - see e.g. Acts 1:10 ἐσθῆτι in ECM);
• TR = Scrivener’s 1894; SBL= Holmes 2010;
• Treg = Tregelles 1879+Jongkind 2009;
• WH = Westcott+Hort 1881;
• Tyn = Tyndale House GNT 2017.

**Editions that have words in a different order are listed with the amount of displacement
e.g. moved »2: Treg indates displacement forward, by 2 words in the edition of Tregelles 1879.

Greek Interlinear Descriptions

Reference: Versification as used by KJV. NA is rarely different (Mark 12:15; Acts 13:39; Romans 3:26). Those for others are mostly from the Majority text (i.e. the NT of the Greek-speaking Orthodox church - at Matthew 15:6; Romans 16:25-27; 2 Corinthians 1:7; Ephesians 1:10; Colossians 1:12 ) and a few modern Bibles (John 8:1; Colossians 1:12; 1 Timothy 6:21);

English Translation

Based on Berean Study Bible, with permission, as of 1-July-2019 and adapted for this work.

Greek

Spelling comes from NA28 when available, then from TR or the Other edition that has the word. Cases and final accents are based on the punctuation which follows Tyndale House Greek New Testament. Text follows NA27 which is followed by almost all translations, as tested by the significant variant οὐχ, “not” at the end of 2 Peter 3:10

Grammar/Morphology

Based on James Tauber, with additional details by Tyndale scholars: persons added to Personal, Reflexive and Possessive pronouns; distinguish 2nd verbal forms (e.g. 2nd Aorist); distinguished between "Passive", "Either middle or Passive", "Deponent"

Texts

Indicates where the word is found: N=Greek in Nestle-Aland editions which as used by most modern translators, K=Greek used by the KJV translators based on Scrivener 1894; O=other Greek found in major editions but rarely translated.

Footnotes:

• Variants includes every variant in the major editions and manuscript variants before AD 500 that are used by translators. Variants are noted when some manuscripts have significantly different wording.
• Extra Text footnotes when some manuscripts have text not found in others. Manuscript readings that are translated by the KJV are labelled "traditional"; those that agree with NA27 are labelled "older"; and others are labelled as "a few".
• Insignificant manuscript differences are also noted - i.e. those which only change spelling, or re-order of the words without changing the meaning, or don't change the way the text is translated, or the editions consider to be a scribal error or eccentricity and therefore not a possible reading of the original text.
