Deliver Me, O LORD![ 2 Samuel 15:13–29 ]

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

[1] Lord, how are2 they increased that trouble me! many3 [are] they that rise up against me.4 [2] Many [there be] which say of my soul, [There is] no5 help for him in God. Selah6. [3] But thou, O Lord, [art] a shield7 for8 me; my9 glory, and the10 lifter up of mine head. [4] I cried11 unto the12 Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his13 holy hill. Selah. [5] I laid14 me down and slept; I awaked; for the15 Lord sustained me. [6] I will16 not be afraid of ten17 thousands of people, that have set18 [themselves] against me round about. [7] Arise19, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou20 hast smitten all mine enemies [upon] the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. [8] Salvation21 [belongeth] unto the Lord: thy blessing22 [is] upon thy people. Selah.
