⥃Better Is One Day in Your Courts [ John 1:14–18 ]

To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm2 for3 the sons of Korah.

[1] How4 amiable [are] thy tabernacles, O Lord5 of hosts! [2] My soul6 longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart7 and my flesh crieth out for the living God. [3] Yea8, the sparrow9 hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, [even] thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God. [4] Blessed10 [are] they that dwell in thy house: they will11 be still praising thee. Selah. [5] Blessed [is] the man whose strength12 [is] in thee; in whose13 heart [are] the ways [of them]. [6] [Who14] passing through the valley of Baca15 make it a well; the rain16 also filleth17 the pools. [7] They18 go from strength to strength19, [every one of them] in Zion20 appeareth before God. [8] O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. [9] Behold, O God our21 shield, and look upon the face22 of thine anointed. [10] For23 a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had24 rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell25 in the tents of wickedness. [11] For the Lord God [is] a sun26 and shield27: the Lord28 will give grace and glory: no29 good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk30 uprightly. [12] O Lord of hosts, blessed31 [is] the man that trusteth in thee.
