⥃The LORD Is My Salvation

[A Psalm] of David.

[1] The Lord [is] my light2 and my salvation3; whom shall I fear? the Lord [is] the strength4 of my life; of whom5 shall I be afraid? [2] When the wicked6, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon7 me to8 eat up my flesh, they9 stumbled and fell. [3] Though an host10 should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war11 should rise again12st me, in this [will] I [be] confident. [4] One13 [thing] have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek14 after; that I may dwell15 in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold16 the beauty17 of the Lord, and to enquire18 in his temple. [5] For in19 the time of trouble he shall hide20 me in his pavilion: in the secret21 of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me22 up upon a rock. [6] And23 now shall mine head be lifted up above24 mine enemies round about me: therefore25 will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy26; I will27 sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. [7] Hear, O Lord, [when] I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.28 [8] [When29 thou saidst], Seek30 ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy31 face, Lord, will I seek. [9] Hide32 not thy face [far] from me; put33 not thy servant away in anger: thou34 hast been my help; leave35 me not, neither forsake me, O God36 of my salvation. [10] When37 my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord38 will take me up39. [11] Teach40 me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path41, because of mine enemies42. [12] Deliver me not over unto the will43 of mine enemies: for false44 witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe45 out cruelty. [13] [I had fainted46], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the47 land of the living. [14] Wait48 on the Lord: be49 of good courage, and50 he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
