⥃I Lift My Voice to the LORD [ 1 Samuel 22:1–5 † Psalms 57:1–11 ]

Maschil of David; A Prayer2 when he was3 in the cave.

[1] I cried unto the Lord with my voice4; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication. [2] I poured out5 my complaint before him; I shewed6 before him my trouble. [3] When my spirit7 was overwhelmed within me, then thou8 knewest my path. In the way9 wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. [4] I looked10 on [my] right hand, and beheld, but [there was11] no man that would know me: refuge12 failed me; no man cared for my soul13. [5] I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou [art14] my refuge [and] my portion15 in the land16 of the living. [6] Attend unto my cry; for I am17 brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they18 are stronger than I. [7] Bring my soul19 out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous20 shall compass me about; for thou shalt21 deal bountifully with me.
