(KJV) Genesis 14¹

⥃The War of the Kings

[1] And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar², Arioch king of Ellasar³, Chedorlaomer king of Elam⁴, and Tidal king of nations;⁵ [2] [That these] made war with Bera king of Sodom⁶, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah⁷, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim⁸, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar⁹. [3] All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea¹⁰. [4] Twelve years they served¹¹ Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled¹². [5] And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that [were] with him, and smote the Rephaims¹³ in Ashteroth¹⁴ Karnaim, and the Zuzims¹⁵ in Ham, and the Emims¹⁶ in Shaveh Kiriathaim¹⁷, [6] And the Horites¹⁸ in their mount Seir, unto El–paran¹⁹, which [is] by the wilderness. [7] And they returned, and came to En–mishpat, which [is] Kadesh²⁰, and smote all the country of the Amalekites²¹, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon–tamar²². [8] And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same²³ [is] Zoar;) and they join²⁴ed battle with them in the vale of Siddim; [9] With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.²⁵

⥃Abram Rescues Lot

[10] And the vale of Siddim [was full of] slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell²⁶ there; and they that remained fled to the mountain²⁷.²⁸ [11] And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.²⁹ [12] And they took Lot³⁰, Abram’s brother’s son, who³¹ dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

[13] And there came one³² that had escaped, and told Abram the³³ Hebrew; for he dwelt³⁴ in the plain of Mamre³⁵ the Amorite³⁶, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these³⁷ [were] confederate with Abram. [14] And when Abram heard that his brother³⁸ was taken captive, he armed³⁹ his trained⁴⁰ [servants], born⁴¹ in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] unto Dan⁴². [15] And he⁴³ divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote⁴⁴ them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which [is] on the left hand of Damascus⁴⁵. [16] And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.⁴⁶

⥃Melchizedek Blesses Abram ^{[ Psalms 110:1–7 † Hebrews 7:1–10 ]}

[17] And the king of Sodom went out to⁴⁷ meet him after⁴⁸ his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that [were] with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which [is] the king’s⁴⁹ dale. [18] And Melchizedek king⁵⁰ of Salem brought forth bread⁵¹ and wine: and he [was] the priest⁵² of the most⁵³ high God. [19] And he blessed⁵⁴ him, and said, Blessed [be⁵⁵] Abram of the most high⁵⁶ God, possessor⁵⁷ of heaven and earth: [20] And blessed⁵⁸ be the most high God, which⁵⁹ hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes⁶⁰ of all. [21] And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons⁶¹, and take the goods to thyself. [22] And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift⁶² up mine hand unto⁶³ the Lord, the most⁶⁴ high God, the possessor⁶⁵ of heaven and earth, [23] That I⁶⁶ will not [take] from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that [is] thine, lest⁶⁷ thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: [24] Save⁶⁸ only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner⁶⁹, Eshcol, and Mamre; let⁷⁰ them take their portion.
