(KJV) Isaiah 21¹

⥃Babylon Is Fallen ^{[ Revelation 18:1–8 ]}

[1] The burden² of the desert³ of the sea. As whirlwinds⁴ in the south pass through; [so] it cometh from⁵ the desert, from a terrible land. [2] A grievous⁶ vision is declared unto me; the treacherous⁷ dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up⁸, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the⁹ sighing thereof have I made to cease. [3] Therefore are¹⁰ my loins filled with pain: pangs have¹¹ taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed¹² down at the hearing [of it]; I was dismayed at the seeing [of it]. [4] My heart panted¹³, fearfulness affrighted me: the night¹⁴ of my pleasure hath he turned¹⁵ into fear unto me. [5] Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat¹⁶, drink: arise¹⁷, ye princes, [and] anoint the shield. [6] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go¹⁸, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. [7] And he saw¹⁹ a chariot [with] a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, [and] a chariot of camels; and he hearkened²⁰ diligently with much heed: [8] And he cried, A lion²¹: My lord, I stand²² continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights²³: [9] And, behold²⁴, here cometh a chariot of men, [with] a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon²⁵ is fall²⁶en, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. [10] O my threshing²⁷, and the corn²⁸ of my floor: that which²⁹ I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

⥃The Burden against Edom ^{[ Isaiah 34:5–17 ]}

[11] The burden of Dumah³⁰. He calleth to me out³¹ of Seir, Watchman, what³² of the night? Watchman, what of the night? [12] The watchman said, The morning³³ cometh, and also the night: if³⁴ ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.

⥃The Burden against Arabia

[13] The burden upon Arabia³⁵. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye³⁶ travelling companies of Dedanim. [14] The inhabitants of the land of Tema³⁷ brought³⁸ water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled. [15] For they fled from the swords³⁹, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. [16] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according⁴⁰ to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar⁴¹ shall fail: [17] And the residue of the number of archers⁴², the mighty⁴³ men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for⁴⁴ the Lord God of Israel hath spoken [it].
