⥃Judgment on Israel and Judah

[1] Hear ye this, O priests2; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house3 of the king; for4 judgment [is] toward you, because ye have5 been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor6. [2] And the revolters7 are profound8 to make slaughter, though9 I [have been] a rebuker10 of them all. [3] I know11 Ephraim12, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou13 committest whoredom, [and] Israel is defiled. [4] They will not frame their doings14 to turn unto their God: for15 the spirit of whoredoms [is] in the midst of them, and16 they have not known the Lord. [5] And the pride17 of Israel doth testify18 to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in19 their iniquity; Judah20 also shall fall with them. [6] They shall go21 with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord; but the22y23 shall not find [him]; he hath withdrawn himself from them. [7] They have dealt24 treacherously against the Lord: for they have begotten25 strange children: now shall a month26 devour them with their portions. [8] Blow27 ye the cornet in Gibeah28, [and] the trumpet in Ramah29: cry aloud [at] Beth–aven30, after31 thee, O Benjamin. [9] Ephraim32 shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have33 I made known that which shall surely be. [10] The princes34 of Judah were like them that remove35 the bound: [therefore] I will pour out my wrath upon them like36 water. [11] Ephraim [is] oppressed37 [and] broken in judgment, because he willingly38 walked after the commandment. [12] Therefore [will] I [be] unto Ephraim as39 a40 moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness41. [13] When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah [saw] his wound42, then went43 Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb44: yet45 could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound. [14] For I [will be] unto Ephraim as a lion46, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, [even] I, will tear47 and go away; I will take away, and none48 shall rescue [him].

[15] [¶]I will go [and] return49 to my place, till50 they acknowledge their offence51, and seek my face: in their52 affliction they will seek me early.
