⥃Paul’s Message by the Spirit’s Power
[1] And I, brethren, when2 I came to you, came not with3 excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony4 of God. [2] For I determined not5 to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. [3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.6 [4] And my speech7 and my preaching [was] not8 with enticing9 words of man’s wisdom, but10 in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: [5] That your faith should not stand11 in the wisdom of men, but12 in the power of God.
⥃Spiritual Wisdom [ Ephesians 1:15–23 ]
[6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them13 that are perfect: yet not14 the wisdom of this world, nor of the15 princes of this world, that come16 to nought: [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even17] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto18 our glory: [8] Which none19 of the princes of this world knew: for20 had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord21 of glory. [9] But as it is written, Eye22 hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things23 which God hath prepared for them24 that love him. [10] But God25 hath revealed [them] unto us by26 his Spirit: for the Spirit27 searcheth all things, yea, the deep28 things of God. [11] For what29 man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even30 so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. [12] Now we have received, not31 the spirit of the world, but32 the spirit which is of God; that33 we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. [13] Which things also we speak, not34 in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but35 which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing36 spiritual things37 with spiritual. [14] But the natural man38 receiveth39 not the things40 of the Spirit of God: for they41 are foolishness unto him: neither42 can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. [15] But he that43 is spiritual judgeth44 all things, yet45 he himself is judged46 of no man. [16] For who47 hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may48 instruct him? But49 we have the mind of Christ.
