1. a. city in Moab Num 32:3; Num 32:38 (where assigned to Reuben; both J E = ‎נבה‎ MI¹⁴) Isa 15:2; Jer 48:1; Jer 48:22; 1Chr 5:8 probably on or near Mt. Nebo (see below), compare Buhl^{Geogr. 266 f.} Tristr^{Moab 338.}
