⥃Do Not Rebuke Me in Your Anger [ Psalms 38:1–22 ]

[1] O Lord, rebuke3 me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. [2] Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I4 [am] weak: O Lord, heal5 me; for my6 bones are vexed. [3] My7 soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how8 long? [4] Return9, O Lord, deliver10 my soul: oh save me for11 thy mercies’ sake. [5] For12 in death [there is] no remembrance of thee: in the13 grave who shall give thee thanks? [6] I am14 weary with my groaning; all the15 night make I my bed to swim; I water16 my couch with my tears. [7] Mine17 eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth18 old because of all mine enemies. [8] Depart19 from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for20 the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. [9] The Lord hath heard21 my supplication; the Lord will receive22 my prayer. [10] Let all23 mine enemies be ashamed and sore24 vexed: let them return25 [and] be26 ashamed suddenly.
