⥃You Turned My Mourning into Dancing
A Psalm [and] Song [at] the2 dedication of the house of David.
[1] I will extol3 thee, O Lord; for4 thou hast lifted me up, and hast not5 made my foes to rejoice over me. [2] O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and6 thou hast healed me. [3] O Lord, thou hast brought7 up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down8 to the pit. [4] Sing9 unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance10 of his holiness11. [5] For12 his anger13 [endureth but] a moment; in his14 favour [is] life: weeping15 may endure for a night16, but joy17 [cometh] in the18 morning. [6] And19 in my prosperity I said, I shall20 never be moved. [7] Lord, by thy21 favour thou hast made22 my mountain to stand strong: thou23 didst hide thy face, [and] I was troubled. [8] I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto24 the Lord I made supplication. [9] What25 profit [is there] in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? [10] Hear26, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou27 my helper. [11] Thou hast turned28 for me my mourning into dancing29: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded30 me with gladness; [12] To the end that [my] glory31 may sing praise to thee, and32 not be silent. O Lord my God, I will33 give thanks unto thee for ever.
