And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name [was] Manoah; and his wife [was] barren, and bare not.

Now there was a man from Zorah named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, whose wife was barren and had no children.

וַ יְהִי֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶחָ֧ד מִ צָּרְעָ֛ה מִ מִּשְׁפַּ֥חַת הַ דָּנִ֖י וּ שְׁמ֣וֹ מָנ֑וֹחַ וְ אִשְׁתּ֥וֹ עֲקָרָ֖ה וְ לֹ֥א יָלָֽדָה ׃
