And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

But Jacob himself went on ahead and bowed to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

וְ ה֖וּא עָבַ֣ר לִ פְנֵי הֶ֑ם וַ יִּשְׁתַּ֤חוּ אַ֙רְצָ ה֙ שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֔ים עַד ־ גִּשְׁתּ֖וֹ עַד ־ אָחִֽי ו ׃
