And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

And Jacob had a dream about a ladder that rested on the earth with its top reaching up to heaven, and God’s angels were going up and down the ladder.

וַֽ יַּחֲלֹ֗ם וְ הִנֵּ֤ה סֻלָּם֙ מֻצָּ֣ב אַ֔רְצָ ה וְ רֹאשׁ֖וֹ מַגִּ֣יעַ הַ שָּׁמָ֑יְמָ ה וְ הִנֵּה֙ מַלְאֲכֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֔ים עֹלִ֥ים וְ יֹרְדִ֖ים בּֽ וֹ ׃
