And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

“Swear to me first,” Jacob said. So Esau swore to Jacob and sold him the birthright.

וַ יֹּ֣אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֗ב הִשָּׁ֤בְעָ ה לִּ י֙ כַּ יּ֔וֹם וַ יִּשָּׁבַ֖ע ל֑וֹ וַ יִּמְכֹּ֥ר אֶת ־ בְּכֹרָת֖וֹ לְ יַעֲקֹֽב ׃
