⥃The Day of the LORD [ Zephaniah 1:7–18 † 1 Thessalonians 5:1–11 † 2 Peter 3:8–13 ]

[1] For, behold, the day2 cometh, that shall burn3 as an oven; and all the4 proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it5 shall leave them neither root nor branch.

[2] [¶]But unto you that fear6 my name shall the Sun7 of righteousness arise with healing8 in his wings9; and ye shall10 go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down11 the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the Lord of hosts.

[4] Remember ye the law12 of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in13 Horeb for all Israel, [with14] the statutes and judgments.

[5] [¶]Behold, I will15 send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great16 and dreadful day of the Lord: [6] And he shall turn17 the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest18 I come and smite19 the earth with a curse.
