Gaddiel, the son of Sodi, is mentioned in Numbers 13:10 as the representative of the tribe of Zebulun among the twelve spies sent by Moses to explore the land of Canaan. The spies were chosen from each of the twelve tribes of Israel to scout out the land, assess its resources, and gather information about its inhabitants (Numbers 13:17-20).
