⥃The Perfect High Priest ^{[ Psalms 110:1–7 ]}

[1] For every² high priest taken from among men is ordained³ for men⁴ in things [pertaining] to God, that he may offer both⁵ gifts and sacrifices for sins: [2] Who⁶ can have compassion on⁷ the ignorant⁸, and on them⁹ that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed¹⁰ with infirmity. [3] And by reas¹¹on hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. [4] And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as [was] Aaron.¹² [5] So also Christ¹³ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou¹⁴ art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. [6] As he saith also in another [place], Thou¹⁵ [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec¹⁶. [7] Who in the¹⁷ days of his flesh, when¹⁸ he had offered up prayers and supplications with¹⁹ strong crying and tears²⁰ unto²¹ him that was able to save him from death, and²² was heard in that he feared²³; [8] Though he were²⁴ a Son, yet²⁵ learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; [9] And being²⁶ made perfect, he became²⁷ the author of eternal²⁸ salvation unto²⁹ all them that obey him; [10] Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.³⁰

⥃Milk and Solid Food ^{[ 1 Corinthians 3:1–9 ]}

[11] Of whom we³¹ have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull³² of hearing. [12] For when for the³³ time ye ought to be teach³⁴ers³⁵, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first³⁶ principles of the oracles³⁷ of God; and are become such as have³⁸ need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13] For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful³⁹ in the⁴⁰ word⁴¹ of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age⁴², [even] those who by reason of use⁴³ have their⁴⁴ senses exercised to discern⁴⁵ both good and evil.
