Zabad was one of the sons of Ephraim, the son of Joseph. He is mentioned in the genealogy of the tribe of Ephraim. According to the account, Zabad and his brother Shuthelah were killed by the men of Gath, who were native inhabitants of the land. This incident occurred when Ephraim's descendants attempted to raid the livestock of the Gathites. The death of Zabad and his brother was a tragedy for the tribe of Ephraim.
