And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.”

καὶ ἔλεγεν· διὰ τοῦτο εἴρηκα ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδεὶς δύναται ἐλθεῖν πρός με ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ δεδομένον αὐτῷ ἐκ τοῦ πατρός μου.
