And he dwelleth in desolate cities, [and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

he will dwell in ruined cities, in abandoned houses destined to become rubble.

וַיִּשְׁכּ֤וֹן׀ עָ֘רִ֤ים נִכְחָד֗וֹת בָּ֭תִּים לֹא־ יֵ֣שְׁבוּ לָ֑מוֹ אֲשֶׁ֖ר הִתְעַתְּד֣וּ לְגַלִּֽים׃
