But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence [comest thou], Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.

When Gehazi went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, “Gehazi, where have you been?” “Your servant did not go anywhere,” he replied.

וְ הוּא ־ בָא֙ וַ יַּעֲמֹ֣ד אֶל ־ אֲדֹנָ֔י ו וַ יֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָי ו֙ אֱלִישָׁ֔ע מֵ אַ֖יִן גֵּחֲזִ֑י וַ יֹּ֕אמֶר לֹֽא ־ הָלַ֥ךְ עַבְדְּ ךָ֖ אָ֥נֶה וָ אָֽנָה ׃
