And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told [it], all the city cried out.
_BSB:
When he arrived, there was Eli, sitting on his chair beside the road and watching, because his heart trembled for the ark of God. When the man entered the city to give a report, the whole city cried out.

וַ יָּב֗וֹא וְ הִנֵּ֣ה עֵ֠לִי יֹשֵׁ֨ב עַֽל ־ הַ כִּסֵּ֜א יַ֥ד דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ מְצַפֶּ֔ה כִּֽי ־ הָיָ֤ה לִבּ וֹ֙ חָרֵ֔ד עַ֖ל אֲר֣וֹן הָ אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְ הָ אִ֗ישׁ בָּ֚א לְ הַגִּ֣יד בָּ עִ֔יר וַ תִּזְעַ֖ק כָּל ־ הָ עִֽיר ׃
