And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou [so] evil entreated this people? why [is] it [that] thou hast sent me?

So Moses returned to the LORD and asked, “Lord, why have You brought trouble upon this people? Is this why You sent me?

וַ יָּ֧שָׁב מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶל ־ יְהוָ֖ה וַ יֹּאמַ֑ר אֲדֹנָ֗י לָ מָ֤ה הֲרֵעֹ֙תָה֙ לָ עָ֣ם הַ זֶּ֔ה לָ֥מָּה זֶּ֖ה שְׁלַחְתָּֽ נִי ׃
