Exodus 1:16⥂
_KJV:
And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see [them] upon the stools; if it [be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it [be] a daughter, then she shall live.
_BSB:
“When you help the Hebrew women give birth, observe them on the birthstools. If the child is a son, kill him; but if it is a daughter, let her live.”

וַ יֹּ֗אמֶר בְּ יַלֶּדְ כֶן֙ אֶת ־ הָֽ עִבְרִיּ֔וֹת וּ רְאִיתֶ֖ן עַל ־ הָ אָבְנָ֑יִם אִם ־ בֵּ֥ן הוּא֙ וַ הֲמִתֶּ֣ן אֹת֔וֹ וְ אִם ־ בַּ֥ת הִ֖יא וָ חָֽיָה ׃
