But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.
_BSB:
But the people remained silent and did not answer a word, for Hezekiah had commanded, “Do not answer him.”

וַֽ יַּחֲרִ֔ישׁוּ וְ לֹֽא ־ עָנ֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ דָּבָ֑ר כִּֽי ־ מִצְוַ֨ת הַ מֶּ֥לֶךְ הִ֛יא לֵ אמֹ֖ר לֹ֥א תַעֲנֻֽ הוּ ׃
