And it was announced to Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon, and he takes hold of the horns of the altar, saying, king Solomon swear by an oath to me today to not put to death his servant by [the] broadsword.

και ανηγγέλη τω Σολομώντι λέγοντες ιδού Αδωνίας εφοβήθη τον βασιλέα Σολομώντα και κατέχει των κεράτων του θυσιαστηρίου λέγων ομοσάτω μοι σήμερον ο βασιλεύς Σολομών του μη θανατώσαι τον δούλον αυτού εν ρομφαία
