καινίζω,

(καινός) properly make new or strange, but usually in derivation senses, καί τι καινίζει στέγη the house has something new, strange about it, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; κ. εὐχάς offer new, strange prayers, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; ἀμφίβληστρον ὡς ἐκαίνισαν (corr.
