Ionic dialect ἀνδρηίη [Refs 5th c.BC+], generally written ἀνδρία in the Mss., in agreement with the opinion of [Refs 2nd c.AD+] —ἀνδρεία is required by the metre in [Refs 5th c.BC+], and may always stand in the few poetry passages where it occurs [ἀνδρεία is also confirmed by the \_Ionic dialect\_ form ἀνδρηίη">Refs 5th c.BC+]:—manliness, manly spirit, opposed to δειλία, [prev. cited],[Refs 4th c.BC+]; also of women, [ἀνδρεία ἡ περὶ τὰς ναυτιλίας 1st c.BC-1st c.AD: Strabo Geographus 3.1.8">Refs 5th c.BC+]:—in plural, brave deeds, [Refs 5th c.BC+]
