__I of land, bare, ψ. ἄροσις open cornland, [Refs 8th c.BC+]; ἄδενδρα καὶ ψ., of the Alps, [Refs 2nd c.BC+]; τὰ ψ. (i.e. χωρία), opposed to τὰ ὑλώδη, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; ψ. γεωργία the tillage of land for corn and the like, opposed to γ. πεφυτευμένη (the tillage of it for vines, olives, etc.), [Refs 5th c.BC+]

__IV λόγος ψ. bare language, i. e. prose, opposed to to poetry which is clothed in the garb of metre, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; opposed to τὰ μέτρα, [Refs 4th c.BC+] is a mere speech, a speech unsupported by evidence; and in [Refs 5th c.BC+] are mere forms of argumentation, dialectical abstractions (so ψιλῶς λέγειν speak nakedly, without alleging proofs, [Refs 4th c.BC+]
__IV.2 ποίησις ψ. mere poetry, without music, i. e. [Refs] (ἡ ἐν ᾠδῇ), [Refs 5th c.BC+]; ψ. τῷ στόματι, opposed to μετ᾽ ὀργάνων, as a kind of μουσική, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; ἡ ψ. φωνή the ordinary sound of the voice, opposed to singing (ἡ ᾠδική), [Refs 1st c.BC+]
